Die FHWS Bibliothek ermöglicht den Zugang zu Inspec. Diese Datenbank des Insitute for Engineering, Electronic and Technology enthält bibliographische Angaben und Abstracts zur internationalen Fachliteratur aus dem Bereich Technik und Informatik. Sie wertet über 4.500 Fachzeitschriften und ca. 3.000 Kongressberichte einschließlich Bücher, Reports und Dissertationen aus. Die Inhalte sind englischsprachig.

Die Datenbank ist auf dem Campus erreichbar und für Angehörige der FHWS mit Hilfe des Externen Zugangs auch von außerhalb.

Leider können im Moment noch keine Linkresolver angeboten werden. Falls also die DOI zu einem „verschlossenen Artikel“ führt, muss selbst eine Fernleihe gestartet werden. Bei Fragen zur Fernleihe helfen gerne die Teams an den Ausleihtheke in Würzburg bib-wue@fhws.de oder SW: bib-sw@fhws.de

The FHWS Library provides access to Inspec, a database of the Institute for Engineering, electronic and technology containing bibliographic data and abstracts of international technical literature in the field of engineering and computer science.

It evaluates more than 4,500 journals and about 3,000 congress reports including books, reports and dissertations. The content is in English.

The database is accessible on campus and for members of the FHWS also from outside via External Access.

At the moment, no link resolvers are offered. Therefore, if the DOI leads to a „closed article“, you have to start an interlibrary loan yourself. Über die Osterfeiertage, 15.4. bis einschließlich 18.4., ist die Bibliothek geschlossen

The library is closed over the Easter holidays, April 15 to April 18 inclusive.

Ab 21.3. hat die Bibliothek in Schweinfurt von Montag bis Freitag 9-17 Uhr und in Würzburg Montag bis Freitag 8-18 Uhr geöffnet.

As of 3/21, the library is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Schweinfurt and Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m. in Würzburg.

Unser J.B. Metzler Geisteswissenschaften Angebot hat sich erweitert. Zusätzlich zu den Neuerscheinungen von 2021 haben Sie nun auch auf die Neuerscheinungen aus den Jahren 2019 und 2020 Zugriff. Somit können wir Ihnen knapp 230 neue Titel für Ihre Recherche, z.B. zu Literatur- und Sprachwissenschaften oder Philosophie,  bieten.

Our J. B. Metzler Humanities offer has expanded. In addition to the new releases from 2021, you now also have access to the new releases from 2019 and 2020. Thus, we can offer you almost 230 new titles for your research, e. g. on literature and linguistics or philosophy.

Mit der Online-Ausgabe der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung ergänzen wir unser Angebot an elektronisch verfügbaren Zeitungen (bisher MainPost, Süddeutsche Zeitung und New York Times). Für Angehörige der FHWS ist es mit dem Externen Zugang auch außerhalb des Campus möglich, diese Zeitung aufzurufen.

Wenn Sie im F.A.Z.-Bibliotheksportal auf F.A.Z.-Seiten klicken, kommen Sie auf die PDF-Ansicht und können, angelehnt an die gedruckte Ausgabe, durch die Zeitung „blättern“.

Alternativ gibt es Funktion Suche im F.A.Z.-Archiv, mit der Sie gezielt nach Themen recherchieren und sich passende Artikel anzeigen lassen können. Bitte beachten: Der Zugriff auf die Frankfurter Rundschau ist nicht in der Lizenzvereinbarung mit FHWS Bibliothek enthalten.

Falls Sie weitere Zeitungen auswerten möchten, haben wir in der WISO-Datenbank den Bereich Presse abonniert. Hier können Artikel aus Tages- und Wochenzeitungen (u. a. Spiegel, Zeit, Handelsblatt) aufgerufen werden.

F.A.Z is now available online

The online edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung complements our range of electronically available newspapers (so far MainPost, Süddeutsche Zeitung and New York Times). For members of the FHWS, it is also possible to access this newspaper off campus with the External Access.

If you click on F.A.Z-Seiten in the F.A.Z. library portal, you will be taken to the PDF view and can „flip“ through the newspaper, similar to the printed edition.

As an alternative, you can use the search function in the F.A.Z. archive for searching for specific topics and have suitable articles displayed. Please note: The FHWS Library has not licensed access to the Frankfurter Rundschau.

If you would like to evaluate other german newspapers, we have subscribed to the Press section in the WISO database. Articles from daily and weekly newspapers (including Spiegel, Zeit, Handelsblatt) can be accessed here. /HN

Beck-Online ist nicht über den regulären Externen Zugang erreichbar, sondern erfordert einen Sonderweg. Für den Zugriff auf Beck-online muss ein VPN-Zugang (Professoren wenden sich bitte an ihre Fakultät, Studierende an das ITSC) auf dem eigenen Endgerät eingerichtet und aktiviert sein.

Außerdem ist ein persönlicher Account bei Beck-Online erforderlich, den Sie über den Button Kostenlos registrieren selbst anlegen können. Zur Freischaltung benötigen Sie eine @fhws.de oder @student.fhws.de E-Mail-Adresse. Auf der Seite von Beck-online finden Sie eine Anleitung zum Erstellen des Accounts.

How to use Beck-Online off Campus

Beck-Online is not accessible via the regular External Access, but requires a special route. To access Beck-online, a VPN access (professors please contact your faculty, students the ITSC) must be set up and activated on your own terminal device.

You also need a personal account at Beck-Online, which you can create yourself by clicking on the Kostenlos registrieren button. You will need an @fhws.de or @student.fhws.de e-mail address to activate your account. On the Beck-online page you will find instructions for creating the account. /HN
