In der Prüfungsvorbereitungszeit vom 09.01.2023 bis einschließlich 15.02.2023 sind die Räume der THWS Bibliothek länger geöffnet. Nach unseren regulären Öffnungszeiten mit Personal (in Würzburg von 8:00 -19:00 Uhr / in Schweinfurt von 8:00 bis 17:00 Uhr) kann noch bis 22:00 Uhr in der Bibliothek gearbeitet werden. Die Aufsicht wird von einem Sicherheitsdienst übernommen.
Extended opening hours for exam preparation
During the exam preparation period up to and including February 15 the rooms of the THWS library are open longer. After our regular opening hours with staff (in Würzburg from 8:00 -19:00 / in Schweinfurt from 8:00 to 17:00), work can still be done in the library until 22:00. Auf der Webseite der Pearson eLibrary kann über die Freitextsuche nach Titeln gesucht oder einfach nach Themen gestöbert werden.
Bitte beachten: Die Titel auf der Pearson Plattform können nur online gelesen werden. Ein Download ist leider nicht möglich. Es können bis zu zwanzig Personen gleichzeitig auf die englischsprachigen E-Books zugreifen, bei den deutschsprachigen ist der Zugriff unbegrenzt.
On the Pearson eLibrary website, you can search for titles using the free-text search or simply browse by topic.
Please note: Titles on the Pearson platform can only be read online. Unfortunately, downloading is not possible. Up to twenty people can access the english e-books at the same time, german titles are unrestricted.
Bereits zum zweiten Mal in Folge erhielt die FHWS Bibliothek das Gütesiegel „Bibliotheken-Partner der Schulen“ verliehen.
Die Jury würdigte die Offenheit und die multimedialen Angebote der FHWS-Bibliothek für Schulen in Zeiten der Coronavirus-Erkrankungen: Auch während des Lockdowns wurde der Kontakt zu den Schulen flexibel telefonisch oder per Mail gehalten. Dadurch konnte die Zusammenarbeit mit den Schulen ohne Unterbrechungen fortgeführt werden. Die Veranstaltungen wurden je nach Situation vor Ort in der Bibliothek oder online durchgeführt. Zur Stärkung der virtuellen Angebote wurden sieben Videos erstellt, die Basisinformationen zur Bibliothek in kurzweiliger Form aufgreifen. 363 Schülerinnen und Schüler haben an den Veranstaltungen teilgenommen.
„Libraries – Partners of Schools“ seal of qualityawarded to FHWS library
For the second time in a row, the FHWS Library was awarded the „Library Partner of Schools“ seal of approval.
The jury appreciated the openness and the multimedia offers of the FHWS library for schools in times of coronavirus: Even during the lockdown, contact with the schools was maintained flexibly by phone or mail. This allowed cooperation with the schools to continue without interruption. Events were held on-site at the library or online, depending on the situation. To reinforce the virtual offerings, seven videos were created to address basic information about the library in an entertaining way. 363 students participated in the events./Hn
Die Din-/ISO Normen und VDI-Richtlininen sind ab sofort nicht mehr in Perinorm sondern auf der Plattform Nautos zu finden.
Der schnellste Einstieg gelingt mit der Dokumentnummer. Falls weitere Suchfelder benötigt werden, können diese einfach ausgeklappt werden.
Wie gehabt können die aktuell gültigen DIN und ISO-Normen als Volltext aufgerufen werden. Andere Normen oder zurückgezogene Normen werden nur bibliographisch nachgewiesen.
Die FHWS Bibiliothek ist auch Normen-Auslegestelle, das bedeutet das Externe Nutzer auch Normen einsehen können. (Allerdings ist Ausdrucken oder Abspeichern für Nichtangehörige der FHWS nicht gestattet).
Nautos: DIN/ISO standards and VDI guidelines moved to new interface
The DIN/ISO standards and VDI guidelines can now no longer be found in Perinormbut on the Nautos interface.
The easiest way to access them is using the document number. If further search fields are required, these can simply be folded out.
As before, only the currently valid DIN and ISO standards can be accessed as full text. Other standards or withdrawn standards are only referenced bibliographically.
The FHWS library is also a standards distribution center, which means that external users can also view standards. (However, printing or saving is not permitted for non-members of the FHWS). /HN
Das Kursangebot der Bibliothek für das Wintersemester 2022/23 ist online. Wir bieten wieder ein breitgefächertes Programm von der Bibliothekseinführung über klassischen Literaturrecherche bis hin zu ergänzenden Kursen, die beim wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten unterstützen.
Außerdem haben wir den Kurskalender optisch und technisch überarbeitet. Es ist jetzt möglich die Angebote nach verschiedenen Kriterien zu filtern. Zusätzlich zu den Bestätigungsmails werden nun auch noch Erinnerungsmails am Tag der Veranstaltung versandt.
The library’s course programme for the winter semester 2022/23 are online. We offer a wide-ranging programme from library introductions and classic literature research to supplementary courses that support academic work.
We have also visually and technically revised the course calendar. It is now possible to filter the offers according to different criteria. In addition to the confirmation emails, reminder emails are now also sent on the day of the event.
Der Eingangsbereich der FHWS Bibliothek in Schweinfurt wird über die vorlesungsfreie Zeit umgebaut und komplett neugestaltet.
Nur kurz (1. und 2. August) ist die Bibliothek für Ausräum- und Umbauarbeiten geschlossen.
Ab dem 3.8. ist die Bibliothek in Schweinfurt von 10-16 Uhr geöffnet. Der Zugang zum Lesesaal führt während des Umbaus über die Büroräume der Bibliothek und ist deutlich ausgeschildert.
Bücher können an der improvisierten Ausleihtheke entliehen werden. Die Rückgabe ist zusätzlich immer über den Rückgabekasten vor der Bibliothek möglich.
Die Umbauarbeiten sollen bis zum 30. September abgeschlossen sein./Hn
Despite renovations, the library in Schweinfurt will remain open as long as possible!
The entrance area of the FHWS library in Schweinfurt is being rebuilt and completely redesigned over the lecture-free period.
For a short time only (1 and 2 August), the library will be closed for clearing out and construction work.
From 3 August, the library in Schweinfurt will be open from 10 am – 4 pm. During the renovation, access to the reading room is via the library offices and is clearly signposted. Books can be borrowed from the improvised circulation desk. In addition, they can always be returned via the return box in front of the library.
The construction works are scheduled to be finished by the end of September./Hn
In der vorlesungsfreien Zeit (1. August bis 30. September)sind die Zentralbibliotheken der FHWS Montag bis Freitag von 10.00 bis 16.00 Uhr geöffnet. Die Teilbibliotheken bleiben geschlossen.

Opening hours during the semester break
During the lecture-free period (1 August to 30 September), the FHWS central libraries are open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00. The sub-libraries will remain closed.
Please note: The library in Schweinfurt will be closed on 1 and 2 August for construction work in the entrance area.
Die FHWS Bibliothek ermöglicht den Zugang zu Inspec. Diese Datenbank des Insitute for Engineering, Electronic and Technology enthält bibliographische Angaben und Abstracts zur internationalen Fachliteratur aus dem Bereich Technik und Informatik. Sie wertet über 4.500 Fachzeitschriften und ca. 3.000 Kongressberichte einschließlich Bücher, Reports und Dissertationen aus. Die Inhalte sind englischsprachig.
Die Datenbank ist auf dem Campus erreichbar und für Angehörige der FHWS mit Hilfe des Externen Zugangs auch von außerhalb.
Leider können im Moment noch keine Linkresolver angeboten werden. Falls also die DOI zu einem „verschlossenen Artikel“ führt, muss selbst eine Fernleihe gestartet werden. Bei Fragen zur Fernleihe helfen gerne die Teams an den Ausleihtheke in Würzburg bib-wue@fhws.de oder SW: bib-sw@fhws.de
The FHWS Library provides access to Inspec, a database of the Institute for Engineering, electronic and technology containing bibliographic data and abstracts of international technical literature in the field of engineering and computer science.
It evaluates more than 4,500 journals and about 3,000 congress reports including books, reports and dissertations. The content is in English.
The database is accessible on campus and for members of the FHWS also from outside via External Access.
At the moment, no link resolvers are offered. Therefore, if the DOI leads to a „closed article“, you have to start an interlibrary loan yourself.
